JustEat Spend €15 Million to Take 5,400 Staff Skiing

Food delivery company JustEat is reported to have spent 15 million euros taking 5,400 of its staff on four day skiing holidays to the Swiss resort of Arosa, according to a report by financial media company Bloomberg.

Bloomberg reports the move has not gone down well with some corporate investors in the context of what Bloomberg notes as a declining share price for the business.

Corporate ski trips taking hundreds and sometimes thousands of employees out to the mountains appear to have become increasingly popular in recent years for North American and EU based companies. Many provide employees taking part with company ski kit to keep, which then means the slopes fill with skiers and boarders dressed identically. Google and Apple both organise large trips and Apple has also given new projects code names that are ski resort names.

Most of these trips were curtailed due to the pandemic and the JustEat trip was the first since a 2019 outing to Laax (video below), their corporate ski jackets are orange.

“We understand these are challenging times, but exactly because of this, it is even more important to organize Snow Fest and show our employees we value them and their hard work,” a JustEat  representative told Bloomberg.
