The organisers of the National Snow Show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham this weekend, say they are “part” of a plan to stage a new London ski show in 2023, although there are no further details as yet.

“You may have heard the rumours that the creator of The National Snow Show, Raccoon Media Group, is bringing the event to London in 2023 and we are stoked to say we will be part of The London Snow Show,” said Ashley Cox of Racoon Events.

The last major London show, known as the ‘National Ski & Snowboard Festival’, took place in autumn 2019, before the pandemic, organised by the Telegraph Group. They had pulled out of organising the event even before the first lockdown had been announced and a new group had planned to take over running it in autumn 2021 and again this autumn, but both events were subsequently cancelled.

The Telegraph Group had been the latest in a line of organisers of the London ski show stretching back at least half a century, with Earls Court hosting it annually for many decades.

Racoon Events successfully staged the first National Snow Show at the NEC in autumn last year with the second event coming up this weekend (15-16 Oct) when they say they will announce more about the new show. The group have also taken on running another long running ski show at Boston in the USA, which has almost a 100 year history and is now called Snowbound Expo as well as organising other outdoor, running, cycling and equine shows in the UK and USA.
